The faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science is one of the ten faculties of the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg located at Würzburg, the capital of Lower Franconia in the north of Bavaria. Within the faculty, there are three institutes: Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, and Computer Science. Eight autonomous chairs (in German Lehrstühle) constitute the Institute of Computer Science covering a broad spectrum of computer science areas of research:
